Allow me to share our story (honestly worth reading to the end I believe if you are serious about buying); my wife and I decided to spend our 27th anniversary in Sedona at L’auberge (great establishment btw) and fell in love with Sedona that is a magical place. Being in our early 50s, we decided to look how the real estate market was looking, starting of course on line with Zillow. We contacted 3 agents of house we found nice and Kris was the only one that responded within a day. We met Kris on our last day in Sedona after having explained to her what we were looking for.
Buying a house is not “a normal thing”, at least for us, and Kris dealt with the approach first as a professional project manager; Right questions, right sizing, right expectations. In this first day, Kris had already selected 5 houses BUT more importantly was able to adapt on the fly to our responses/ opinions to a point that, to my own surprise, at the end of first day we were ready to put an offer (both scary and exhilarating). That one did not work out as I loved it but not too much my wife (always listen to your wife :-) ).
So we went home in NY but Kris and us continued to exchange emails, and few times Kris went to places and created videos she uploaded for us, narrating all details to give us the best possible view without being physically there. 3 weeks later we had reduced our list to 4 very high potential houses, flew back over a weekend, meet Kris, visited all 4 and put an offer on one.
To my utterly surprise, before we started negotiation, Kris called out the price she thought we would be able to get it at (I have been 27 years in Wall Street and I was surprised). Kris knows the market like a wizard. After 5 rounds of negotiation, we ended up settling exactly as called. On itself the level of service at that point would have been enough for me to recommend Kris to anyone (I rarely recommend people btw) BUT what happened next is what made Kris exceptional. First Kris put us in contact with management service company (Sedona Elite) we are now using. I did my research (being a geek) and they are the best indeed. She gave us all numbers and contacts for all contractors, inspection AND she managed by herself to bring plumber, electrician, appliance guys to take care of repairs while we were still in NY.
Already way beyond what you would expect BUT then it becomes exceptional. During the period to deal with mortgage processing, the house ended it up having a problem. Kris jump into action, worked weekends and night with seller’s realtor to remedy the situation becoming our champion even after all was signed, commission paid and so on. For example, she drove 2 hours to go choose carpets on our behalf and worked process with contractor, found legal solution to still close on time but secured repair costs with seller …
You never know what will happen in life and when you are going for the biggest purchase in your life, you want a friend and a champion by your side. We were honestly close couple of times to call it off and without Kris, we may have done so but having her by your side is a blessing, a security and the assurance that your time investment is optimized, and you have eyes locally (which is a tremendous feeling when you are few thousand miles away).
Kris is a bundle of energy, beyond professional in all aspects of the real estate process, but more importantly she is someone that fights for you, listen to you and seems to have no time boundary, working weekend (and even over Thanksgiving) to ensure that you as a client get what you want in an ethical and safe manner. Needless to say, we are big fans and can recommend her 100%.
